Good morning!
For those of you who don’t know already, last week the 4Fives had an amazing visit from Katy Wright and Jackson. Katy works on a bunch of things, but she came to talk to us about how she rescues food and furniture from the trash and also about civil rights. We learned a lot from her visit, and it was really interesting, because we do a lot of recycling and upcycling projects with Bee and Ms. Kimball.
A friend of Jackson’s (the awesome Mr. Justin) read about Katy’s visit to the 4Fives on SuperForest, and sent him an email saying that he thinks it’s a bad idea to tell kids that it’s okay to take food out of the garbage to eat it. Jackson sent the email to Bee, and Bee read the email to us. Then we has a REALLY REALLY REALLY long talk about both sides of the issue, and decided to write a post about it. We also made this little video to share our thoughts.
What do you think?
Love,
The 4Fives

Marvelous post, Fives! One correction, Katy’s last name is Wright, not Wainwright.
Yay!

Great post, 4Fives! I must admit I had a thought similar to Justin’s when I saw the post about reclaiming food out of the garbage. I know that Katy’s ideas are coming from a good place but I do agree that there are health issues at play with this practice. I think that the 4Five who shared his views on this did an excellent job!
